I’m a huge fan of Melissa footwear and am always excited to learn about the latest collaboration. My first pair of Melissa jellies was from the first Vivienne Westwood collection, a pair of black flats. I wore them almost every day, until I nearly lost one in The Gap on the tube. Then I bought a pair of wine-coloured Harajuku heels and wore them with every 50s style dress I own. And THEN for Christmas I begged for a pair of Ashanti boots – and got them. I am so spoilt. I’m still coveting those pink glitter Ultragirl flats…

Anyway, you get that I’m a big Melissa fan, yada yada. So, on hearing that Karl Lagerfeld had teamed up with the Brazilian brand to create a spectacular collection, my ears immediately started burning with excitement.

Then my face started getting hot. And my eyes widened. And my breathing began to get quicker. Because I saw these.

I DIE.

I already own a pretty awesome pair of ice cream heels, but there’s nothing stopping me from having more than one, right?

Since all of Melissa’s heels have that gorgeous bubblegum scent (of which all of my shoes still have, even after hundreds of wears), I’m hoping that these smell like a strawberry Cornetto.

The rest of the ‘Kollection’ (oh how I hate this stupid trend for making everyone sound like they don’t know the alphabet) is just as impressive, featuring neon curves and futuristic spheres.

What’s your favourite pair from the Melissa and Karl Lagerfeld Kollection? Will you be buying a pair?

All I seem to do these days is talk about Charlotte Olympia, but it’s with good reason. And that reason is because she makes bloody awesome shoes! Any season or any hallmark occasion, Charlotte’s shoes are always on top form. So I knew that for Valentine’s Day she’d have some crackers up her fabulously-adorned sleeves.

First up in the Charlotte Olympia Valentine’s shoes is Delphine, a suede peep toe with bright-red leather hearts and that signature platform. Just think how brilliant a bit of toe cleavage will look with those hearts!

Charlotte Olympia’s Delphine – £595

Then there’s Debonaire, a pointed-toe pump with 4 inches of neon yellow heel. They look like a traditional heel, all pretty and bright, and then you see the soles and notice they’re heart-shaped! I’ve never seen this before and think it’s absolutely genius. Hats off Charlotte Olympia.

Last but not least there’s Josephine, a purple satin stiletto with heart addition on the heel. Another fab way to incorporate hearts, the shape hugs round your heel to add a little something extra to an already spectacular shoe.

Botanica Charlotte Olympia | Shoenique Me

A pair of Charlotte Olympias has been on my wish list for some time. Every time I get the newsletter in my inbox, I go straight to the site to see what the newest designs are. It’s like clockwork! Now that I’m really bored of the snow and cold weather I can’t wait for Spring to arrive so I can get back to wearing some florals, and this flowery pair from the Cruise 2013 collection really caught my eye.

Botanica Charlotte Olympia | Shoenique Me

They feature leather orchids and a bamboo-covered platform, which makes them look really tropical and summery. You just want to wear them with a bikini and shorts! Inspired by Brazil, specifically Bahia, the gorgeous aqua green colour makes the orchids pop and the bamboo adds another nod to nature. Botanica will look amazing with this Lisella Lace Shift Dress* from French Connection and Autograph Quick Dry Nail Colour* in Orchid.

Of all the colours and patterns in the world, you’d think leopard print and red would be awful together. In actual fact, they go together like yin and yang, toast and marmite, Poehler and Arnett (they’re still together in my mind…sniff). I’ve found three pairs of gorgeous leopard print boots and heels, all showing off a flash of red, but with very different prices…

Penny Pinch: Leopard Print Contrast Sole Suedette Ankle Boots – £14 (sale item, previously £27.99)

leopard print and red heels | Shoenique Me

The red on the platform of these boots really pops, yet it’s not overdone by being on the heel too, which is refreshing! These suedette boots are just £14 in the New Look sale, bargain!

Pay Day: Leopard Platform Court Shoe – £59.99

leopard print and red heels | Shoenique Me

You can always count on Zara to give you an affordable, well-designed and luxury-looking shoe. These beauties show off their simple pop of red on the heel, so they look innocent from the front but hold a daring secret from the back.

Pricey: Aerotonoc 120 Ankle Boots – £1,350

leopard print and red heels | Shoenique Me

Leopard print, red suede and lace? It sounds a bit ‘boudoir’ but when Christian Louboutin gets it, he gets it right. I fell head over red heels for these boots as soon as I saw them, but alas – the price tag is beyond my wildest dreams.

Irregular Choice is one of those brands that I just can’t ignore. Whenever there’s a newsletter waiting in my inbox, I have to look and see what’s in it. Most of the time I like what I see and that’s it or I think the designs are way too crazy for me and so don’t go any further; but this time my attention was caught by Brighton Town.

Don’t you just love all the colours and patterns? The flowers are huuuuge too, so you know Brighton Town would look amazing with a pair of bright tights and a shift dress. Here’s how I styled Brighton Town by Irregular Choice…

Shoes: Brighton Town by Irregular Choice, £89.99
Dress: Phase Eight Lena lace dress at John Lewis, £57
Tights: Bordeaux 120D opaque at Dorothy Perkins, £8
Ring: Heart and Arrow at Temporary Secretary, £8
Varnish: Plum by Barry M Gelly, £3.99

Nine West is the sort of brand that I love to browse. I find my favourites and then wait for the sales to hit to be able to afford them, but I’m always browsing. So of course I found some brilliant choices in the mid-season sale.

Laffnplay£105, now £35

Laffnplay by Nine West

After the amazing saving on this pair (£70 off!), the best thing about Laffnplay is the colour. I always think pink looks brilliant in suede and these are just gorgeous. The whole shoe just fits together perfectly – cork wedge, slingback, peep toe…stunning.

Too Smart£135, now £95

Too Smart by Nine West

The perfect winter party boot! I love the glitter on these boots, especially next to the ruched leather. The heels are glitter too, so they look super sparkly under the dancefloor lights. Too Smart would look gorgeous with a strappy LBD and pattern tights.

Hotlist£125, now £65

Hotlist by Nine West

Hotlist are another hot choice for party shoes and are the ideal price too. The twists in the straps give them a bit of an edge, while the sparking of the glitter will have people transfixed. In the basket you go…

It’s sale time and I’m fully in sale-mode as I check my bank balance and start weeping at the lack of saving skills. Why do I find it so difficult to hold onto precious cash? Because I enjoy spending it. Then I feel sad that I’ve spent it, but happy because I have a pretty pair of shoes to show off. So when sale time comes around, I really do enjoy grabbing a ‘bargain’ while my conscience holds the reigns. This time I’m picking my favourite gems from the Irregular Choice mid-season sale, and pass on a fantastic 10% off code that can be used on sale items!

Brazen Brenda – £50 (£45 with 10% off code)

Brazen Brenda - Irregular Choice

Brenda’s been on my radar for a while now. I picked her up in the Carnaby Street shop but decided to buy May Contain Nuts instead, and then spent the rest of the day wishing I could have bought both! Brazen Brenda has an apple print fabric and woven wedge heel, plus a little floral button on the strap. They look pretty high too, but they’re so incredibly light you’ll feel like you’re walking on air.

Poetic Licence’s Behave Yourself – £40 (£36 with 10% off code)

Behave Yourself - Poetic Licence

Distracted by the animal print and my love of wedges, I didn’t notice these were Poetic Licence until I took a closer look at the photos and saw the branding! Perfect as a splash of animal print with a bland outfit, Behave Yourself have a 10cm heel (can you believe it?) and an attractive bow on the front.

Poetic Licence’s The Right Stripe – £44.99 (£40.50 with 10% off code)

The Right Stripe - Poetic Licence

Another Poetic treat, this time stripes take centre stage and come with a cherry on top – literally! These are so cute and quirky with their candy stripes. Did you notice that the lighter stripes are baby pink and not white?

Swallow – £39.99 (£36 with 10% off code)

Swallow - Irregular Choice

I fall for anything with swallows on. So when I saw these pop up in the store, I immediately added them to my wish list. The swallow appliqué works perfectly with the floral print and they’re in Irregular Choice’s classic court design. I think the black heel is felt too?

How to get your 10% off

The lovely people at Irregular Choice are giving their customers an extra special treat. While enjoying the savings of the mid-season sale, you can get a further 10% off sale items in the online store with this code: 10SALE.

Now the lovely hot weather is over and the rain is starting to fall more frequently (I mean really, does it ever go away completely?), I’m feeling like my wardrobe should get less and less bright. Out come the chocolate browns and the fern greens, mustards and plums, and monochrome. I found three pairs of monochrome heels in the same style, but with different prices…

Penny Pinch: Charlotte Russe Double Buckle Colour Block Wedge – $42.50 (£26 at time of posting)

Charlotte Russe Double Buckle Wedges

Velvet and faux-leather together? Very on-trend. I’m a sucker for a double buckle too. I like that these are a kind of off-white as most of the time I find it hard to justify getting pure white – It just gets marked so quickly. Heaven forbid you step out in smoggy London in white shoes too!

Pay Day: Zara High Heel Vamp Shoe – £69.99

Zara Vamp Heels

Sparkles! T-bar! Round toe! These feel really 20s flapper-like, with added glitz. I’d imagine wearing these with a classic LBD and back seam tights for the office Christmas party.

Pricey: Moschino 1609 ACOW Patent Black & Nude Shoes at Coggles.com* – £425

Moschino Cheap and Chic

These are part of Moschino’s sister label, Cheap and Chic (though not actually ‘cheap’). The label is responsible for so many pastels and prim cardigans, yet these heels shout vintage beauty. The lighter ankle straps are detachable, so you can decide whether they go with your chosen outfit and if not – just take them off. Easy!

What is it with me and wedges? I can’t seem to dislike any wedge that I come into contact with. Add a cut-out heel and you’ve pretty much sold me, like these Charlotte Russe wedges.

The thing I love the most with colour blocking on shoes is that you’ve got so much more to work with. I get bored of working with one colour (which is probably why my obsession with Irregular Choice is so great), so these wedges caught my eye straight away.

They’re a mixture of velvet and faux-leather and have that added texture of a double buckle as well as a zipper at the back. That cut-out wedge is eye-catching too. What’s that? The price? Oh they’re just $40. No, I’d never lie to you! They’re $40, that’s £25 at the time of posting..

I styled these Charlotte Russe colour block wedges with a purple shimmer skirt from Topshop (£42), embroidered crop top from New Look (£6) and Model’s Own Kaleidoscope nail polish (£5)

New in this week at Topshop, I’ve fallen in love with these heart flats. What is there not to love? (apart from if they were heeled).

I know I’ve been going a bit polka dot crazy, but I swear I’m not looking for them – they come to me! I really love the lighter version with polka dots because you notice them more, but the black version is also cute. I’m a little unsure of the pointed toe, but I guess the heart looks better with pointed instead of rounded? Pointed looks a little classier too. With rounded toe, they’re always in danger of looking a little like school shoes. They’re not too badly priced either, which is pretty good for Topshop!
